The Egyptian government and UNESCO relocated these magnificent temples in 1960 to protect them from the Nile’s rising waters. The sun temple, built by Ramses II, primarily serves as a monument to his greatness. Inside, you’ll find a mural illustrating his triumphant victory at the Kadesh battle.

Adjacent to Ramses’ temple is the Nefertari Temple. Ramses II dedicated this architectural marvel to his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari, who was the most revered among his 200 wives and concubines.
